Valley Pike Farm Market Welcomes the Virginia Cider Festival
It’s always wonderful when a business combines a good time with a good cause!
And Valley Pike Farm Market is doing just that by hosting the Virginia Cider Festival to benefit Mercy House.
A fixture in the Harrisonburg community for over 30 years, this non-profit works to reduce poverty and homelessness here in the Shenandoah Valley.
Mercy House provides food, clothes, and shelter to Harrisonburg’s homeless families with dependent children.
While living in this safe community, Mercy House provides services that help to overcome the barriers that led to their homelessness.
Employment is a requirement to participate in the program and residents must have a steady income.
The result of the program is that homelessness is reduced, and participants contribute to the local economy by buying goods and services.
It’s a big job but Mercy House has done it very well for more than three decades, resulting in a positive impact on the community.
The festival will celebrate that impact with a portion of the proceeds directly benefitting Mercy House and the families they support.
